The Oathbound (Mercedes Lackey)
Read in January 2010 (disregard the date - I forgot to post it)
The first of the Vows and Honor series, set in pre-Valdemar days. I've gotten into a mood to read Lackey, and will probably work my way through her entire history of Vademar.
