Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention. (Sir Francis Bacon)

One Night (Debbie Macomber)

I wasn't feeling well, and I wanted something I didn't have to think about to read. Which might not be the best recommendation for a book. But once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down.

The basic plot is that two people can't get along at work and because of the tension that it is causing, their boss orders them to resolve their differences or be fired. Well, they end up resolving their differences by going to bed. Naturally this results in a pregnancy, which leads to a happy-ever-after. But only after a kidnapping by a wanted fugitive, a murder of an FBI agent, and a brilliant escape engineered by a radical hippy leftover from the 60's.
